The 5-Minute Check That Prevents a mantabridge Mistake

You have two choices: move the full amount in one go, or send a small test amount first. For a first transfer, send the test amount.

That extra transaction is the simplest way to avoid the mistake that is easiest to make once: selecting the wrong network, token, or destination before approving the transfer. A bridge is a tool that moves an asset between separate blockchain networks. The asset may have the same name on both networks, but the transfer still depends on choosing every field correctly.

What to check before sending

Start with the wallet. A wallet is the application or browser extension that controls your blockchain address. Open it and confirm that the account you intend to use is connected. Then look at the network shown in the wallet. A network is the blockchain environment where the transaction happens, such as Ethereum or Manta Pacific.

Next, write down four details before clicking anything:

  • the network where your funds are now;
  • the network where you want to use them;
  • the exact token you are moving;
  • the destination wallet address.

The source network is where the funds begin. The destination network is where they should arrive. The token is the digital asset being transferred. The wallet address is the long string of letters and numbers that identifies the receiving account.

Do not rely on a familiar ticker symbol alone. Tickers are short labels, and similar labels can exist for different assets. Compare the token name, network, and displayed balance. Copy the destination address rather than typing it. After pasting, compare its first and last several characters with the address you meant to use.

Keep enough of the network’s native token for the gas fee. A gas fee is the small payment required to have a blockchain process a transaction. If you spend the entire balance on the bridge transfer, you may be unable to approve the token or complete a later transaction. Leaving a modest amount behind is part of the transfer cost, even if the bridge itself shows a separate fee.

Use the test transfer as a receipt

With those checks done, open mantabridge, select the source and destination networks, choose the token, and enter a small amount. The page is where the transfer is carried out; the wallet is where you review and authorize each transaction.

Expect that approval may happen before the transfer itself. An approval gives the bridge permission to use the chosen token amount. The transfer transaction then requests the move. Read both wallet prompts. Check the network, token, amount, and recipient before confirming either one.

Wait until the test amount appears on the destination network. Seeing it in the wallet may require switching the wallet’s network or adding the asset’s display manually; that does not necessarily mean the funds are missing. Check the transaction status in the wallet or bridge interface first.

Once the test works, repeat the same selections for the remaining amount. The useful habit is not memorizing a particular button sequence. It is treating the first transfer as a verification step: small amount, correct network, enough gas, matching address. Five minutes of checking can prevent a much harder recovery later.
